The southern extreme of ancient Trinacria, the promontory of Pachino, is renowned for its crops. It is the strength of the sun and salinity of groundwater that enhance the taste of the “cherry” tomato that, precisely from the place takes its name. The entire territory is the custodian of a unique natural and cultural heritage, where the charming seaside village of Marzamemi, tells stories of fishing and fishermen. Among the architectural signs of the village stands out the old tonnara with the “scieri” and the Palmento di Rudinì, examples of industrial archaeology in Sicily. Pachino is an ancient land, settled by Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Swabians, Angevins, and Aragonese who made it a center of trade. The colors and decorative elements of this location, a crossroads of millennia-old cultures, are the valuable reference for the above line of decors.
